There is no active .Net Standard Storage plugin for Xamarin.Forms
# Steps to reproduce
I can not find a .NetStandard Storage plugin actively maintained by Xamarin company.
# Actual behavior
This plugin : https://github.com/dsplaisted/PCLStorage
> Is only compatible with PCL project
> Is discontinued : https://github.com/dsplaisted/PCLStorage/issues/66
This plugin : https://github.com/PCLExt/PCLExt.FileStorage
> Is not maintained by Xamarin company
> Is not mature at this time
Can you please provide a .NetStandard plugin for Xamarin.Forms file storage ?
Thank you and have a nice day.89 votes
By using default font the Farsi words is just the symbols and cannot be read.
but after the font change to something like Segoei the words can be read and theres no problem in the visual.
but there is a problem on selecting the text and moving cursor around the text. I cannot provide screen shot about that because its something you might check by your self.33 votes
The Xamarin Profiler tool needs to be more readily available to ALL Xamarin developers, not just Enterprise license holders (which is prohibitively expensive for individuals or small companies). The withholding of such a great tool to only the most expensive licenses will surely propagate low quality, un-optimized applications into the market which could severely affect the Xamarin platform adoption rate for developers. Xamarin Profiler needs to be a free tool ( such as Xcode and Android Studio's profiler tools) or significantly more affordable.38 votes
Please create android resource file editor such as anim, drawable, etc and please if you people had difficulty implementing xaml into android and ios return to plain xml with complete syntax completion is what i am and probably many more asking.
Xamarin.Forms is missing some basic controls and functionality.
Here are some:
- ItemsControl (like WPF)
- Horizontal ListView
I don't want to go any further, and only want to cover the very basic ones.
XF's (IMHO unjustified) agenda is to implement only controls that are natively implemented in all 3 platforms (UWP, Android, iOS).
These elementary controls should be implemented constructed to as natively as possible, but HAS to be there.
Xamarin must make exceptions to this crazy agenda.13 votes
Please, add next features to the Remoted iOS Simulator:
- syncronize windows and osx clipboard to allow Copy&Paste actions in the Remoted iOS Simulator window, probably using the native iOS dialog (https://bdfss.blob.core.windows.net/shots/2017-12-07_00-51-08-7506bac1-bbd2-4bb3-9f81-ad9f9d15874b.png),
- allow cursor navigation in text fields using keyboard arrow keys.
Both these features are work in the default OSx iOS Simulator. Thank you!21 votes
Now that Xamarin.Forms is open source I would love to see the development of it supported on Linux. IntelliJ Rider goes some way to helping achieve that but we still need xaml rendering support and the ability to install the Xamarin SDK on Linux (if this is already possible please let me know how!). I love Linux and it seems to me that there's quite a group moving away from Windows and OS X towards Linux.12 votes
Provide the support for the scrollbar visibility at the initial time of the view loading3 votes
When editing a Xamarin Forms, the Properties windows is blank when a control is selected in the XAML code. For all other flavors of XAML, the properties windows show all available properties and is a great productivity boost.
Also, the Toolbox (Ctrl-W,X) does not show any of the standard or added UI controls that are installed for VS. I am using VS2017 15.5.62 votes
Please bring a Xamarin.Forms package for Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics in addition to the existing platform specific packages.3 votes
Developing for Android with Xamarin is dreadfully slow if you have a reasonably sized project. Currently one of my projects takes over a minute to build and deploy. This is not workable anymore because it takes me out of my flow.35 votes
UIViewControllers defined in code support generic type parameters. This feature is useful in an MVVM pattern when a given XIB can use different view model sources.
There is, however, no way to do this in a XIB defined view controller. Therefore, a XIB defined view controller cannot use generics for custom view controllers.
Note that if the .designer.cs file is manually edited to add a generic template, it works. The .designer.cs file is, however, overwritten regularly when opening XIB files, requiring that we modify the designer.cs file again.17 votes
Add support for designer to watch changes as soon as we type them in editor like split view. Also add support for refactoring, and provide suggestions like Android Studio does for creating resources like string or colors resources right from layout file. Also support refactoring as soon we type a resource name then it should display matching values like visual studio intellisense works in code editor. Make it better to develop android apps like android studio provides functionality.15 votes
I am a c# developer and I want to use Xamarin, but the designer is making me and everybody frustrated. For Android for isstance, I cannot see XML and Designer side by side. Zooming in both iOS and Android designers is a real pain. Mouse wheel should be used for zooming as standard not by clicking. Believe me these details are so simple but extremely important. These details let developer skip away from C# to Android and Swift, just because of these small things.15 votes
Add a feature to check nuget package compatibility with exception information before installing or updating project.1 vote
As an individual developer I have a Professional subscription. I build apps for myself as well as for other companies. In order to build good apps I need to profile my apps every now and then. Unfortunately this is not possible anymore because of the changed licenses. I had a Xamarin business license before which suited my needs perfectly. But the professional VS license is now insufficient to do my work because the Xamarin Profiler is missing. The Enterprise license is simply to expensive.174 votes

Currently we need to log-in to a real Mac, update or SVN workspace and then fire a build using Xamarin.
It would be very convenient and safe a lot of time to be able to build from a PC using a Mac Agent. It would also make build automation much easier since we can build the target nuget package immediately after msbuild.131 votes
