    • Blend for Xamarin

Visual Studio integration is a great way to improve cross-platform development productivity using one of the best IDE.

The goal is to imitate the tools (and their usage) on current Windows development (WPF / Windows 8 / Windows Phone).

We have 2 independant tools working together to provide the best productivity management ever : Visual Studio and Blend for the design.

What about Blend Integration with Xamarin ?

      • XAML for Xamarin Forms to be consistent with WPF/UWP XAML so that we have one XAML standard

When Xamarin started Xamarin Forms, I am sure they didn't want to confuse Xaml developers with similar syntax they use in WPF/Silverlight/UWP and started renaming controls like TextBox in WPF/Silverlight/UWP to Entry in Xamarin Forms.

Now that Xamarin is part of Microsoft, we should stick to one standard XAML so that, we can use XAML designers like Blend or similar tools, to drag drop controls, attach behaviours and triggers visually.

Ideally, we design UWP app, and we get iOS and Android apps with no code change.

          • Add preview of Xamarin.Forms like any XAML.

It would be really useful to preview the design of the XAML without using external software or running the app.

            • Introduce a Nightly builds channel to Xamarin.Forms, Mono, Mono-Android,...

Can we intoduce a Nightly build channel along side of Stable, Beta, and Alpha? This way when a bug is fixed we can immediately test the outcome before waiting till full release? Also this might be a good intermediate step till we are able to compile all the xamarin projects on our own.

              • Add .dSYM file in upload from MTBS to local build output when building from Visual Studio

When building iOS project from Visual Studio, some files are uploaded back to the windows build machine. Currently, it seems to be the MyApp.app and MyApp.ipa.

But to be able to synbolicate crash generated from these files, the MyApp.dSYM file is required.

In a CI environment like a build server it is a requirement to have it, otherwise the build result is useless.

                • Create real support for new Window-developers

First - sorry for my bad English - my native language is German.

This posting is intended for the Xamarin management……

I am a Windows developer (unfortunately vb.net) and “try to try out” Xamarin (90-day-trial via MSDN).

I decided to try-out Xamarin, because:
                  - I should be able to easy create real native-like apps for all platforms
                  - There is an integration in Visual Studio (and we work with VS2013
                  for our other applications)
                  - With the new Xamarin.Forms - it should be possible to create multi-
platform Apps very fast with the ability to nevertheless implement
                  platform-specific changes if…

                  • Support WinPhone and Windows tests in Xamarin.UITest

Xamarin.Forms provides developers with the ability to build apps for Android, iOS, WinPhone and Windows, but Xamarin.UITest only supports testing on Android and iOS. This makes Xamarin.UITest impractical for Xamarin.Forms projects, and who wants to build two sets of tests using different technologies to cover those platforms? Please extend UITest (and TestCloud) to support all platforms supported by Xamarin.Forms

                      • One project for all devices

When creating Xamarin solution, I suggest not to add a project for each device (one for ios, another for Android…). It will be easier to have one project that contains classes for common features and classes for each device. This can be done by some naming conventions, using separate folders for each OS, or by marking each class by some attributes (like [ios], [android]… etc.). It's easy then to compile this project to have many apps, each contains only the classes that suits the device it will work on.

                            • iOS c++

Now that VS 2015 supports native iOS C++ static library development it would be nice if such a library could be added as a reference to a C# Xamarin project with VS. This already works with Xamarin.Android and the native Android C++ support in VS.

                              • Change the Visual Studio updater so that during downloads it does not block Visual Studio.

The updater for VIsual Studio is modal and during downloads it prevents access to Visual Studio. In may case downloads can take up to 30 minutes which causes me to be idle for 30 minutes.

                                • Make Update Download Windows Non-Modal

Make the update download window non-modal so I can keep working in VS. As it is I do this anyway, I just have to have another instance of VS open (which is annoying for multiple reasons). If the window wasn't modal, it would be fine. I'm talking VS here, but I guess the same would apply to XS.

                                  • Visual F# iOS Project Support for Visual Studio (+Templates)

Please can you add support for opening (and creating) F# iOS projects in Visual Studio (equivalent to the current C# iOS VS templates)? This is particularly important for F# people, because Xamarin Studio does not yet have intellisense between C# and F# projects.

We use C# projects for the UI (due to storyboard support) and then put all the meat in F#, so adding these templates would mean we could switch between VS (for intellisense) and XS (for designer stuff) at will. At the moment, we have to create VS specific projects and add files to both the VS and…

                                    • Xamarin.Forms for Wearable Device Development

I would like to Suggest to have Xamarin.Forms for Wearable Device Development and Documentation.

                                      • Have an option to automatically connect to a build host if it is the only one on the network

I am the only developer at my company doing Xamarin development at the moment. I am the only person using the build host. It would be great if my machine would auto connect to it the build host instead of popping up with the window "one or more build hosts were detected". This would definitely need to be something that would turned off by default.

                                        • to get Device identity and device property

When our application published already, some time we need to know user running it on what platform for example what brand, memory size, processor type, etc to get track on device specific issue.

Also if we have a generic class to access device property will be really helpful to simplify our code. For example Device.ScreenSize, Device.Camera.IsFlashAvailable, Device.IsGPSEnabled etc.
