You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

There are two ways to get more votes:

  • When an admin closes an idea you've voted on, you'll get your votes back from that idea.
  • You can remove your votes from an open idea you support.
  • To see ideas you have already voted on, select the "My feedback" filter and select "My open ideas".

  1. Add Support for creating Mac applications in Xamarin.Forms

xamarin forms has support for ios, android and windows including windows desktop applications - why not complete the cross platform story and add mac desktop application support to xamarin forms?

    • Open the 'component store' framework

The Xamarin Component store is a closed environment which doesn't seem to be extensible in terms of platforms or providers.

I would like to see this opened and extended in similar ways to nuget and openwrap:

      1. Provide command line tools to allow developers to pull down packages without using the IDEs
      2. Provide configuration options in XS and VS to allow component sources other than components.xamarin.com - this will allow developers and organisations to host packages locally (via file and http), and will allow others to supply public package directories and services.
      3. Provide extensibility so that other platforms…

Good suggestion, and one we’ve been working on, albeit slowly and quietly. Let me give you a quick update on where we’re at so far.

        1. You can download `xamarin-component.exe` from https://components.xamarin.com/submit/xpkg. Download a package from http://components.xamarin.com, rename extension to .xam, and run `xamarin-component.exe install foo.xam`. This tool is a work in progress.

        2. Under consideration, but it’s a large work effort and not likely to happen soon due to resource constraints.

        3. Can be done currently, we just don’t have tooling integration at the moment (to automatically add refs to a project). Some of these project types don’t have standardized project type GUID’s, and others aren’t supported on Xamarin Studio. Your assemblies will still be there in the `lib\foo` directory as long as your `component.yaml` has the relevant entries under `libraries:`.

        4. Currently doable using the ‘mobile’ platform identifier. This lets you reference a “Portable Library” or…

        • Xamarin.Mac for VS

Please allow us to use VS with Xamarin.Mac just like VS for Xamarin.iOS

          • fix issues with git(Github) support

If when connecting to a github the user puts in the wrong password the system saves the wrong one and there is no way to change it in Xamarin Studio. Also if there is a lost of internet during a push or pull Xamarin will just hang and never time out. The only way to stop this is to exit the program and start again.

            • Use native dialogs and UI in Xamarin Studio

The GTK dialogs look and feel completely foreign on Windows. The File Open dialog is nothing like a standard Windows File Open dialog, and all dialogs have the Ok/Cancel buttons the wrong way around for what Windows users expect.

but it's not complete. The dialogs are not close to native.

              • On the xamarin.com/apps page put A thru Z at the top to filter/find apps

I was browsing http://xamarin.com/apps and saw that you're using paging numbers at the top. I think it would make more sense if you alphabetized the apps and put the letters A thru Z at the top so we can quickly find apps, etc. If you are going to keep the numbers for pages I suggest revising to standard paging controls and also add < and > buttons to move forward and back.
